This is an ancient temple located just behind the Mangadu Kamakshi Amman temple. The beautiful small ancient temple is dedicated to Lord Velleeswarar (Shiva). As per the legend, Sukracharya worshipped this Shiva linga and hence the Lord got the name Velleeswara (Vellee means 'Sukra' in Tamil language).
The main deity of the temple is Lord Shiva. Apart from the main shrine, there are small shrines dedicated to Kasi Viswanath and Kala Samhara Murthy in this temple. There are also idols of Ganesh, Subramanya, Dakshinamurthy, and Durga found in this temple.
