This Shivastalam is located near Kannigaipper, near Periyapalayam near Chennai. The area around the temple is known as Maadavilagam. Bhrigu Muni is said to have worshipped Shiva (Dakshinamurthy) in this shrine known as Vajravanam in Sanskrit. The image shown above is that of the stucco images of Dakshinamurthy on the Gajaprashta Vimanam at the Tirumagaral Shivastalam near Kanchipuram. Subramanya's shrine is situated in between the Shiva and Parvati shrines as in Tirukkarukavur near Kumbhakonam. Inscriptions from the Chola, Pandya and Vijayanagar Emperors are seen here.
